ppe programmer question

just bought the standard excellerator from ppe... just need to know do you really have to pull all the fuses before you plug it in an start programming? also any other important info or suggestions on programming would help me out. thanks

yes, I remember having to pull 4 fuses with mine

I just pulesd my radio fuse...

Jeff it's totally different on an lb7. I would pull all the fuses to be on the safe side. You would feel real dumb if you fried an ECM.

Also any after market stuff like a radio turn them off, unplug or pull fuse. knowing worst than a device sending garage on the data bus during a write.

Yup. I pull the fuses, sit in the truck, turn the headights off, roll windows up, radio off etc and then do your programming. No need to be goofing with anything while its doing its thing, ECMs and Tuners are expensive! :thumb:

Also if you have a lift pump on a relay, unplug that too it could burn up the pump's motor over time
