I have been cruising now through two tanks on the 90hp lvl2 tune, and kinda wanna bump it to the 120hp lvl3 tune for maybe some more mpg.

I am wondering if its absolutely necessary to have a pyro gauge? The lvl3 advises you to have one before loading so I am curious. I know PPE rates at flywheel so I can't see that 120hp tune being all that hot.

Wouldn't tow on it, strictly for better gas mileage.

On the 160 tune I could drive like I stole it with no problems unloaded. By the time egt's start getting high your running 100+ and its time to let off.

Yeah ran the hell out of mine on the 160 tune also. Raced a camaro and a cummins down the interstate and egts only climbed when holding it over 100 for a ways.

I drive mine on the 160 tune all the time, regular driving, towing, racing, and generally driving the shit out of it with no issues. I towed my 6000 pound suburban on a 2000 pound trailer and the highest the egt's got was on a 6% uphill grade for about 2 miles. They got up to 1180. I would be willing to bet you'll be ok.

I just got my ppe tuner also. I started with level 3 right off the bat. Dont have any gauges or anything else yet. Didnt have any problems. Dont expect any fuel millage gains though. On level 3 my millage stayed the same as with stock tune.

Last weekend I did take it down to level 2 because I was towing the camper and didnt want to push it with out a gauge. Was glad I did because my millage actually has gone up with the level 2 tune. I get about 2/2.5 better millage now. Which sucks because I liked the level 3 tune better of course....but now am torn because it is nice getting the better millage.

Was going to start my own thread to ask this and just havnt yet but did you notice any trans issues with your PPE? Every once in a while when I go from park to reverse it really slams into gear. It also shits really weird with wot on the tunes. Level 3 is way worse than level 2 for sure. Just wondering if you are getting the same thing?

My transmission seems to do fine on the 160 tune, shifts good, no problems. I bought the truck a year ago and the previous owner knew nothing of the history, but I'm assuming it is a stock transmission.

Yea my truck seems to run fine on the level 2, and I am pulling down 19mpg on it, so can't complain.

I ran my LBZ on 160 most all the time and have it tuned about there with EFI and no smoke now. Just pulls like I want tranny seems fine. Dyno Jet tuned came in 500 hp and 870 TQ. at 5k elevation. EGR delete 4' pipe AFE air filter. PCV reroute stuff done. Run 265 16 tires and MPG is up to 23 at 55mph back country steady driving if you set cruise on it. Cops out here are on speeding ticket rampage now must be low on money. Like $150 fine for 15 over limit on sign to start fines. Liked the PPE all around gave it my friend when he got married since I went EFI

A) Don't wanna swap out the trans
B) Don't wanna spend the money on a new trans

120hp tune for now :D
