Possible to relocate factory EGT probe?

I noticed on my LML that there are several EGT probes in the exhaust stream. I am wondering on a deleted truck if it's possible to relocate one of the ones that's being removed (like the one that goes in the up pipe EGR riser) and use that as a pre-turbo EGT gauge that can be monitored through a device like a V2 or CTS. Anyone tried this?

I've always wondered this too. I told myself if I ever got an lmm or lml I'd try it. I don't know for sure but I think the factory sensors max out at 1500°.
