so my airdog quit working, dont know how long its been off, i replaced the blown fuse (20amp) and it worked....until i started the truck. it wont blow the fuse til i start the truck.i tried calling airdog but no answer. any ideas? im too lazy to see if theres anything jamming the gerotor plus its too cold to be dicking around with it.

Im on my 3rd or 4th motor. Cant remember exactly. It always happens in the middle of winter! Glad I sent the warranty card in.

Chris you think gelled fuel is burning up the pumps? I've never had any issues with mine except a bad relay.

Nah. Weve had winter fuel with anti gel since November. Im not sure what it is. Im gonna see if a 165 pump will work if the bases are the same.

Im still a firm believer fass and airdog filters are way to small to flow what they rate at 2 microns. Especially in the cold winter weather. Hardley ever see stock filter location gel. Always the fancy lift pumps. I like the fuel labs bigge filter myself.

Im in the same boat now. Except I've changed filters and checked out the gerotor. I think it's sucking in gel.
Anybody know if the pump pushes the fuel thru the filters? Or does it suck thru the filters?

Mine definitely isnt gelled because Ive driven the truck 60 miles since the pump quit.

I replaced my relay in October because there was corrosion on the pins. I honestly don't know how long it's been dead since I don't really listen for it. It's not a 4g just a 2. What gets me is that it will blow the fuse only when the engine is running. I'm pretty sure the motor is shot . I've had it on there for 1.5 years . This smart guy never sent the card in to airdog. Hopefully they'll find it in their heart to warranty it after I tell them how much I used to push their product when I did sales.

Also the moter is a little too quiet in my opinion. Not loud like it should be

Jarren isn't there anymore iirc of yo sent in your warranty card they will replace the motor and for $50 they will upgrade to the 4g motor

I just upgraded mine to the new 4g motor. I didn't send in my warranty card from years before. I was able to buy the new motor for about 225 which was a lot cheaper than a whole new pump.

Man, I'd just bite the bullet and grab a new 4g pump. They, so far, have been working a helluva lot better than the 2g pumps..

After several months of procrastinating I finally called to get the motor replaced,i opted for the 4g upgrade since I don't want to do this again....plus they did find it in their huge hearts to warranty it for me. We will see if this 4g motor last longer. My PPE pump was a champ compared to this stuff.

mine also just started blowing the fuse. its louded then usual but pops the fuse when i start the truck. How do u check if the motor is bad and whats the differences between the 2g and 4g pumps? As i will upgrade if possible.

It's the motor going bad. I just called airdog and told them the exact same thing and thy said it's the motor. The 4g is definitely the way to go. Ultra quiet. I thought about not getting it but now that I'm running it I'm really glad I went with it. It's $50 to upgrade and they send you everyone return the old one....plus it's super easy to swap.

OTHRGRL posted a thread on DieselPlace about the AirDog motors, must have received one of the pump motors from when they switched motor suppliers.
