Hey everyone.. Just joined the duramax diesel forum. I have a 2007 (Classic body style) 2500 crew cab diesel. Was wondering if anyone had ever had there pittman arm break!! I was driving out of a parking lot, heard something pop and my steering went out... Had to get the truck towed to the shop..

ALARM! Wondering if you both were running stock arms or an aftermarket? This is sounding dangerous and spooky. I don't want to hear about one going at hwy speed.
I had a local shop tell me mine could break. Went in for an alignment and they told me the nut on the pitman arm was loose and the excess movement had wallowed out the tapered hole in the centerlink and ruined it. They said if they tightened up the nut that it was a good chance that the pitman arm could break.
Of course they then quoted me $950 for a new c/l idler and pitman arm installed. Lol
