Piston for a street truck

I'm not going to beat a dead horse with the forged vs. lb7 debate for a street truck, but I do have a question on cut and coated LB7 pistons. Is there any good solid data proving the gains of coating a piston? It seems like it would definately help reject heat, but can anyone verify how much this affects piston life?

On a street truck I don't think it is necessary to coat the pistons. Just a de-lip is really all that is needed IMO.

Testing on coated pistons have not returned with great results. I believe just as many coated ones have burned up as non coated.

thanks for replies. My goal is 550hp daily-driver with twins (s475 and stocker), without problems. I know alot run MPI kit's without problems at this level, but I am planning on using a Wicked Diesel's cp3 any cranking the power level to 700 for pulling and racing so I don't want to chance breaking the stock motor and losing the ability to utilize it again.
