Is it in any way harmful to shut pilot inj off completely? I know there are alot of people that shut there pilot off in higher rpms or at WOT but i want to know if its bad to have it shut off at all rpms and throttle position.

P.S I know it sounds like a 7.3 when its shut off

For me the big question is why ? there are no performance gains to be had because it is already shuting down when WOT and X ( what ever you've set in tuning ) RPM is acheived . no one knows the answer because no one has done it for "extended " period of time .

for some reason when i tune it to shut off at X amount of rpms or at wot It sometimes shuts off and sometimes doesnt. The reason I shut it off is simply to try reducing piston heat soak. If i could get it to consistently shut off when it is supposed to i would not worry about it, but the only way i can seem to shut it down is to shut it off completely.

There must be some opinions about the topic.
