Phantom Gear?

So when I am driving my truck at 70mph on the freeway (tuner or no tuner installed) and I am crusing in 5th gear for a few miles the rpms will drop another 500-1000. This is usually from cold start to and from work. Usually I notice it in the tone of the exhaust. Is it just how it works as the tranny warms up or is it trying to tell me something?

Happens to my trans too when the weather gets cold. Could it be either the trans finally shifting into 5th, or maybe the converter locking?

T/C locking. It wont lock untill the trans hits a certain temp.

T/C Locking. Tranny temp has to be 87*F before it will lock. At least that is the temp mine locks at everytime in Fifth gear.

My '04 locked at about 100F. My LML locks right away.

Thanks for the input. Once I got the straight pipe put on, it is alot easier to notice variations in the engine!

My converter won't lock til it warms up a bit I'd say 100* or so.
