I'm currently after a personal goal I have for myself and that is to see a 12 sec pass just one time with 315/75/16 tires in my sig. I need help reaching that goal if any one is willing to help me it would be greatly appreciated but I understand if no one doesn't. I dont care if 12.999 shows up on the board just as long as its 12's. My 2002 truck in my sig (as it sits) weights in I'm guessing around 7920-7940lbs and I figure I can shave some weigh be removing things like tailgate and seats if need be. I'm not looking to be on any list or get any label under my name just want to reach my goal.

I think I have the fuel, tuning, trans and traction to do it with just dont want to let myself down if it doesnt click of the time I'd like to see again. I have two tunes from nick which are rated at 500+ one of which is supposed to net 12's but I need pointers to make sure that power reaches the ground.

I have the front of the rear leafs clamped and a bulletproof frontend I built that can handle the 4wd launches. Should I leave the line at 8-10psi higher/lower????

Any help will be greatly appreciated

If you have max effort tune, a healthy cp3, a diet, and a half decent launch you should have no problem snagging a 12.99999

It can be done. My truck weighs about the same as yours (50 lb heavier, but who's counting?). By removing weight, I was able to get a 13.1 on a very soft 4x4 launch. My front end is stock, only sleeves, so I didn't push it. I also run similar tires (315/75R17). With a good launch and as little weight as possible, you should pull it off. My 13.1 sec run was launching on 4 psi of boost.

Cp3 is healthy (holds 22000+ fine) has plenty of clean fuel to it and the tune is said to click off mid 12's which I highly doubt with my weight I figure I can shave a good bit with pass seat and rear seats, tailgate removed. I've launched at 20psi before sleeves (with just P&I braces) on a backroad racing a spartan tuned 310 6.4 powerstroke out the hole by a one and quarter lenght but feel off on top end (around 70mph) due to lack of fuel prior to lift pumps and lost the race. I know the dragstrip is different been there quite a few times so I know to leave softer than 20psi lol.

I removed my tailgate, spare, rearseat and front passenger seat. I shaved .3 off my 1/8th removing these items. In the 1/4 I would think it would shave .4 to .5 ?

Here is how much of a differance weight makes. If I can get good traction and everything holds up it would take 411hp to make my 5500 pound truck run a 12.99.

There are many tricks to help get you there. Start buy losing the tailgate, spare tire and all the crap that you might have laying around the inside of your truck. Dont run her with a full tank of fuel. Fold mirrors in. Increase tire pressure if you can without losing traction. Pull off passenger head light.

Have you ran at the track before??????

Experience in these trucks is vital also.

I got into the drivers seat of a truck for the first time ever and ran it down the track...I ran it at a new fastest 1/4 time first time ever driving it and the owner had made over 50 passes(maybe 100) in it.

Yes, but its a grime reminder and I dont really like talking about it. I kept clicking off horrible times 14.4's 14.3's etc in 2007 and I said I'd never run again unless I can meet/pass my goal. Those times where with a crappy tuned LBZ in my sig with banks six gun and diablo predator stacked and snow water meth on. Now I stepped up my game (see Sig) started modding in 2008 to current and never felt confident until I did some mods that I hoped would net me the times I'm shooting for. Now I'm dealing with what you see in sig I've only raced on old country backroads I've yet to try the strip but ya'll are helping me build my confidence back up slowly.

You have to start somewhere.

Main thing is to keep trying and experimenting and have fun with it.

Go out on a back road and practice launching. I launch by RPM instead of boost like most people do, I find its easier to hold a desired RPM than a desired boost level when staging. Start off at around 11-1200 RPMs and work up from there until you spin the tires then back down 100 RPMs. This will give you a good starting point for the track.

 lets entertain this
:denied: you have never staged boost to 20 psi and left the line boosted @ 20psi, i know, i had deranged thoughts similar to yours not that long ago. Now that i know better, i know im lucky to get 12psi on a boosted launch before i completely pull through my brakes
 you are gonna want to see a sustained 26-28,000psi rail pressure and bigger injectors than stock to hit the goals you have while riding on those tires. Then, that one pass might just cost you a piston or two or some rods, basically an engine build. It would be a whole lot easier to just roll a 33 down the track whilst removing weight, and you will get your 12.9 on a good night with the stars aligned and 100 hail marys

Thats true but it sure gets old seeing the same time on all the reciepts when you hold them like a hand of blackjack and you never reach the 21 you hoped for. All 14's gets old after all the fuel wasted and no improvement. Thats why I've pulled out all the stops and maxed out all the ava fuel warm tables (except cold tables) to make sure all the fuel is there to rocket me to hopeful 12sec pass with out excessive EGT's or no more than it would run.

Have you upgraded to an lbz pressure regulator for your cp3? Its good for a few thousand psi greater rail pressure

Entertain all you want my 60lbs isspro guage read 20lbs (unless its wrong) as I crepted up beside the 6.4 yes the brakes were extremely hard to hold but I assure you that on the third honk I had 10lbs left to get to max boost which is 30-31. I know what I saw call bs doesn't bother me. I didn't think a stock single LB7 cp3 would make 26-28000 all I usually hear of is 22-23000. Now my LBZ is different and it maintains 26,000 with twin cp3's I have on there stock inj. I'm just looking for help not looking to be bashed.
