My brother inlaw got a kit to do his egr and pcv rerouted he is a outboard engine mechanic and mechanically inclined but the kit he got was budget friendly and not from a vendor here.
He installed the egr delete with ease and no problem. That was the last I talked to him until I woke up this morning. He had text me saying he hopes he didn't mess anything up, I asked what happened and he explained.
Apparently the kit he bought didn't come with the T for the pcv reroute and he was rushing to get everything installed not thinking about it and just looped one hose to the other with no vent line just hard wired one output to the other.
He told me only way he realized what happened was that he noticed oil leaking and looked under the hood. Not having the vent encouraged his forward crank seal to give out and is now leaking. He said he's going to replace the seal tomorrow and fix the pcv.
Can you guys think of anything else he needs to look at that he may of accidentally danger by not venting the crankcase? He had driven the truck for a hundred or so miles until he realized what was up.
