yea i heard that too, that might be something wrong with car. No doubt he was very experienced race car driver. That car had to be going well over 100mph to do that much damage though so they prolly died on impact. RIP to paul and the driver. fast n furious just wont be same with out him.
also glad you guys keeping this one civil. duramax forum one got so outta control people started swearing and call each other names. So the thread had to be closed and some even got infractions. i understand theres ppl dieing all over world. like soldiers overseas which they should be greatly honored for severing our country. but no one should get less or more horned than others.

This guy seemed like a genuine nice person. Never saw any of the Fast & Furious movies, but judging by the way people describe him & his charity work, he will be missed by many. RIP Paul Walker. 40 is way too young.
And about the car...the Carrera GT is stupid fast for those who never saw one in person. I talked to an owner that said he is scared to go past half throttle. Says it breaks the tires loose at over 100. Even if you are a pro driver I heard they are still a handful due to the weight, engine location and lack of stability/traction control.

He was friends with one of my best friends, i met him several times he was very down to earth almost kinda shy, he took me for a ride in his AC cobra kit car when i went by my friends shop and he was working on it for paul, i didnt know him well at all but the few times i met him he was a very nice person who didnt seem like the fame went to his head.. The first time i was introduced to him my friend ronnie brought him to my napa auto parts to buy parts, keeping in mind i have never seen a fast & furious movie, ronnie says, "you know who this is?" I said no, he says its paul walker! And i was like, ok, who is paul walker? .. Lol .. He was cool about it though, he just smiled..

Very true Chris. Porsche GT is a light weight fire breathing beast even in hands of any driver their tough to drive specially on the street. Yea Paul did seem like cool dude just from interviews and just way he carried himself. Never knew bout charity work till now that takes pretty good person to do that.

the official statement said the car was traveling 40 mph on a 15 mph corner and something happened because there was debris on the road leading up to the tree that the car struck.
Just heard on the radio that some radical baptist group was planning on picketing his funeral. Same group that has protested US soldiers. Shame they have no respect for his life, friends, and family involved. Just sad. These stupid people will take any opportunity to try and get their name out there. Their hatefull tweets were just read on the air almost mocking PWs death.

The most common video (one taken by bystander shortly after impact) shows what appears to be a power steering pump or dry sump oil pump over 100' from the impact site.
