In the recovery room today, my son took a bit longer to wake up than normal, so the attending nurse and I had a bit o' fun with him. He pulls out three "Patch Adams" foam noses, and I said, 'Oh yeah! We have to do it!" Nothing like getting some laughs in the hospital.

No way would a 13 y/o wear one of these noses on purpose. I showed my son the pic later on and he gave me the  look.

Later, my daughter asked what the "ball" was for, so i showed her the pic. She laughed HARD, then wanted a pic of her own.

Thanks. Son had a torn eardrum, not necessarily related to the tubes from way back when. They had to take skin from the ear and graft it in. Doc said no issues. Should have no detrimental effects on his hearing. Son just has to take it easy for a few days, then back to normal.

Yes, I cant sleep. Took a nap this afternoon....

Glad all is well, Its amazing what doctors can do these days.

unless you live where i live...:(
i had a hole in my eardrum once...i was able to whistle and blow bubbles under water out of my left ear. went to the doctor and he just gave me some antibiotics and pain pills and told me it was just an infection.

also, i have a friend that has no nerves in his ears...they were removed when he was little. he can have an infection and only know about it because he won't be able to hear as well.

good to know your son is ok. ;)
