So, I'm about to kill another optima yellow top because it gets too hot on the passenger side of the engine bay. How can I cool off that battery so it doesn't explode?

Something around it causing the heat or the battery itself? A bad ground or junk cables can do weird things. Also check the junction type box on the drivers side. It's red with a flap that opens and had a stud that likes to corrode

JCT box is super clean, disconnected the drivers side battery negative terminal and started the truck. No problem. the top of the passenger battery is looking a bit deformed, compared to the one on the driver's side. should I swap them?

Have you tested the driver's side battery? If it's internally weak or shorted it will overwork the passenger battery and cook it quick.
