ok i swore i remember reading somewhere about Guy Tripp or someone else that either sold or knew where to get an OB2 pass through plug setup so you could run a Tech 2 and EFI Live. And before anyone questions why i want it, many so i can lock the truck in 4th or 5th on the dyno and log the ecm as well.

Any know what im talkin about or have i gone nuts? :D

I think I remember a post from Pat (McRat) saying that it has already been tried and it didn't work so well when you split the signal.

Why not just make a TCM tune that deletes OD? On a load cell my truck never shifted out of 5th doing a pull

I thought you could lock it in gear with efi? I know when I dyno'd my truck at SJD Timmy locked it in 5th gear using the tech II and then he used efi. The problem was when the truck hit 3250 rpm (stock limiter) it thought something was wrong, so it unlocked the converter and down shifted to 3rd. Sounded really bad.

Just go to the junkyard and take out another OBDII port/wiring from another vehicle and splice it into yours. That way you have two. Ben did that years ago.

I'm planning on doing something like this in a few months, so I won't have to unplug my Insight to plug in a scantool. I'm looking for one to mount next to the OEM plug.

You can not use the DVT controls for the trans and log the ECM at the same time. I have a tech 2 and efi live, may as well use them if I can

Ben has a DIY on his web site on how to add a second obd2 that might be worth checking out. But if I remember right there were some year restrictions.

yeah but why do that if i can play with my tech 2! :D. it also means the dyno day we are gunna have in AZ, we can plug this in to other trucks and still allow them to log while not needing to make a trans tune for everyone.
