I'm considering gathering the parts over time for putting LLY heads on my 02 LB7. I want to maintain the IHI turbo and just run the LLY heads and fuel system. Looking for help to build a complete parts list to judge the cost. So far:

-Complete LLY heads
-Set of LLY injectors
-High Pressure lines
-Return lines
-LLY ECM
-LLY engine harness
-Head gasket/stud kit
-BT diesel harness conversion service

Probably missing some stuff.......

On the 01 and 02, I think you just need to change the injector pigtails, you can use all your lb7 electronics.

From what I understand the tuning that route is a nightmare. If I go with BT Diesels harness and ecm upgrade I can run the LLY ECM plug and play.

Using the harness From BT diesel I wouldn't think I would need a body harness or NSBU (Ben please correct me if I'm wrong). I have read bonomax's write up but again, with the harness I see it being about as simple as any other way.

I have a possible opportunity to get a complete 2006 lly motor with harness. Would this work with my 5 speed since this would have been a 6 speed Allison motor?

Picked up the motor today but now he told me it was an 05. Anything I can quickly look at to identify whether it is an early or late LLY?

FICM on pass side valve cover = LLY
No FICM = LBZ

Russ, thanks for all your help so far. I failed to mention the old owner kept the electronics etc so I need to find out a different way. Something changed with the intake manifold right? This motor Is a long block, turbo, cp3, intake manifold. It is missing the accessories, hp lines, driver side fuel rail, and driver side upper and lower valve covers. I can post better pics but still got to get it out of the truck tonight.

Can anyone confirm for sure if I can use the LB7 rocker assemblies on the LLY? The motor is missing them on the driver s side.
