Im wondering If the front diff and rear axle, from a 2000 6.0L 2500 fit in my 02 Lb7 A buddy blew up his mud truck and told me I could take whatever I wanted from it before he scrapped it. He won't give me the whole truck though :( . He agreed to give me the frame complete with engine, trans, case, axles, and the wiring needed to make it run. Will the axles fit my truck? and how much of the harness and electronics would I need to take to make the engine and trans run, if I decide to rebuild the motor?

Hellllll noooo :D I meant rebuild the 6.0 to sell or put in a buggy of some sort. Only parts I want for my truck are the front diff cause mine is pretty worn and the rear gov bomb cause mine gets stuck locked together every now and then

The front axle should be the same. The rear won't be.

if its a 2000, its going to be a "light duty 2500", which should have a 9.5" semi-floater...not a 10.5" full floater like the 2001+ 2500HD's

You arent going to get much for that 6.0 because its the "boat anchor" of the whole LSx family...iron heads...1999-2000 6.0's were the only LSx's to ever them.

Unless you find some idiot who thinks all 6.0's are the same. :D

Front is the same. Rear is a 10.5 compared to yours is a 11.5. The 6.0 will also ha e 4.10 gears compared to your 3.73's in the dmax

I know the 4.10's came as stock gearing, but you could also get 3.73's I thought as well. Doesn't matter in this case as the rearend is completely different though.

Yeah I'll double check the gears for sure. Even if the front end won't help me any I'll probably still take it. Can't turn down free parts, plus I think I want the motor and trans for a platform buggy on 2.5 tons axles. Even a boat anchor 6.0 is better than a 350 in my book, just to be different. I wouldn't be looking for big power, just something resilient that will run strong all day long

Some of the '99-'00 trucks had full floating axles. They had to have the 8600lb GVWR though.
