Been wanting to color match my truck for a while now but I've always worried about it chipping off on the plastic parts like the grille and mirrors. Just curious how good it holds up and how long it lasts. If it lasts a while I may try it this weekend :thumb:

Had my mirrors on my 06 paints for 3.5 years and have 1 chip on the passenger side. Otherwise they are fine.

I did all mine with spray paint, so far so good. If you're using spray paint do as many coats as you can. Mine have 4 coats of paint and 3 coats of clear and I wish I'd have done more paint

I am dropping mine off tonight at my buddies shop to get some body work done and am having the mirrors and maybe bumper plastics painted white to match. I'll post some pics when its done!

sanded the plastic a bit, cleaned thoroughly, used adhesion promoter, heavy primer to give the "smooth" look, sanded, about 5 coats of color, 5 coats of clear wet sanded and buffed to a shine.

Make real sure they prep the plastic especially the bumper, will peal right of if not preped with the correct primer for that purpose. Mine is pealing and I have to take a high pressure washer to it and start over. The Shop I had do it didn't prep it correct just pained over the plastic, looks like chit now.:(

Well my buddy texted me and said they're started on it. They are gonna sand them down and use adhesion promoter and at least 2 coats of color and 2 coats of clear. Is that enough?
