The recoat time is typically a maximum time that you can wait and still get a chemical bond with the first coat of paint. I would just use some good judgment based on how the paint is hardening....all of the recommendations from the manufacturer will change with air/surface/paint temperature and humidity. If it is not sticky on the tape that might be a good indicator for the next coat.

The time to recoat will also change based on how you are applying the paint: spray, brush/roller.

Good Luck.:thumb:

well I painted the control arms last night and this stuff is thick! I am using a brush. I had to go watch my brother's last bmx race so i wasnt able to recoat last night so i am going down to do it now. at 65* the paint was tack free in 30 minutes. I think i am only going to do 2 coats on everything, it isnt easy stuff to put on, thats for sure.

thanks for the advice BlkMax

after seeing how this cured in the last couple weeks, I am a little disappointed in its "durability" i expected it to resist scratching and chipping a lot more than it does. maybe it was because it was too cold in the shop (50-65) or maybe it just isnt that durable to impacts, but while putting the front end together i hit the paint with ratchets and wrenches and made a few dings right clean down to the primer. O well, I am not turning back now, hope it lasts with winter conditions:(
