Working on a trans for a guy that seems to have some wear on the P3 planetary planet gears. Its right at then end that would be closest to the parking gear ring. They are worn down a 1/16" id say. It slowly tapers then at the last 1/8" of the gear steps back to no wear.
The truck has 300,000+ miles on it. Its a late 01 as it has STORB fittings for the coolers.
The trans was supposedly rebuilt or replaced with a reman 30k ago. But its unknown who performed the repairs. Its obvious it has been redone as the clutches all look nearly new. He said the SN came up as a reman. However the last reman I rebuilt used the brownish frictions seen in new stock transmissions. This transmission is also painted black but chipping badly. The retran sticker is not present howwver someone couldve removed it and painted the trans. The toeque converter was painted grey too. Furthermore the installer used black RTV for the t case seal and much of this made its way into other places.
I will put a picture up when i get back to the shop.
Any ideas or reasons for concern thanks?
