I checked for DTC's the other day (no check engine light) on my CTS and had a P140A that Edge didn't know what it was and it seems it has to do with the EGR cooler. Then today I had the check engine light come on at start up and I had a P0673 Glow Plug 3 Control Circuit along with the P140A.

I received a letter from GM about a glow plug issue yesterday. Is the P0673 related to the letter?

Any ideas what is causing the P140A?

Truck is '11 GMC LML all stock. Truck has 96,000 miles

p140a-Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Cooler Bypass Position Sensor Exceeded Learning Limit

There is a special coverage on the egr bypass valve for 10 years or 120,000 miles

Condition- On some 2011 model year Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD or 2011 GMC Sierra HD vehicles, the Service Engine Soon Light may illuminate due to an inoperative Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) cooler bypass valve.

Special Coverage Adjustment- This special coverage covers the condition described above for a period of 10 years or 120,000 miles (193,000 km), whichever occurs first, from the date the vehicle was originally placed in service, regardless of ownership.

Dealers are to replace the EGR cooler bypass valve. The repairs will be made at no charge to the customer.

There is also a special coverage for the glow plugs.

Condition- On some 2010-2012 model year Chevrolet Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD or 2011-2012 Chevrolet Express and GMC Sierra HD vehicles equipped with a 6.6L Duramax Diesel engine (RPO LML, LGH) the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) may illuminate due to a condition with the glow plugs. When diagnosed, replacement of one of the engines glow plugs may be required. No drivability issues are generally associated with this issue, but harder starting in cold ambient temperatures may be noted.

Special Coverage Adjustment- This special coverage covers the condition described above for a period of 10 years or 120,000 miles (193,000 km), whichever occurs first, from the date the vehicle was originally placed in service, regardless of ownership.

Dealers are to replace the affected glow plug. The repairs will be made at no charge to the customer.

The letter you received is a recall for the glow plug control module. Just a reprogram.
