Glow Plug control module code. I bet you have a glow plug that is bad, I got GM to replace mine at 55K under the emissions warranty on my 03.

It was never a problem, just the light pissed me off and I figured if they would pay to change it, that was fine with me. I had a Intake, Kennedy boost valve, 4" turbo back, gauges on the pillar and a SCIV at the time when the truck was in. They didn't say a word.

The Norco's
So how do we test them

test light on the glowplug

Glow plugs are the biggest cause of p0380's

Yep, You can go to the tip of each glow plug individually with a test light connected to 12volts, or pull the right and left outer most plugs on the glow plug module and test each circuit white wires are driver side and red wires are pass side. this is for california spec truck, You will have to check at each glow plug for 49 stater.

Getting it under warranty won't be an issue. I just thinkvi had to have done it while I was rerouting some stuff

#3 in my sig.

Fed trucks it's usually the controller.
Cal trucks it's usually a glowplug (or 2,3...etc).

Mil on and off is normal with a P0380. Just believe me...they do not fix themselves;)
Even with 3 plugs not working my truck never started hard in the morning...but I'm also not in an area that gets very cold.

I know enough about these trucks to know how MILs work. I do know that if that gpcm arcs it'll blow the 175A fuse and act similar to a bad plug or module. Chad thanks for the info I'm sure it's the same issue you had

easy dude just pull out each one. one at a time in the morning before you start your truck. leave it coneected stick you toung on the end and turn the key on. If you go screaming into the house it works. put it back in and go to the next one repeat steps.
:D
