Alright, truck is an 03 Cali emission LB7 that i put a small tow tune on and now it sets a random P0380 glow plug code. I also replaced the injectors due to typical LB7 injector issues. Anyone else had this? First and only cali truck I've even seen and much less tuned and am wondering if the tune i generally use for lb7 trucks needs to be modified for this rig.

Check for any open or high resistance glow plugs, there is a 10 year 200,000 mile warranty on glow plugs parts and labor.

they were replaced during the injector job and this code only appeared after tuning. i'm thinking it's the controller and was just odd coincident timing for it to happen. truck still starts fine in 30 degree weather. I really need to get it back so i can check it out. Was hoping someone could tell me if there was a tuning difference in fed and cali trucks as far as glow plug systems go. I do know the controller is totally different.
I got done with the injectors and glow plugs,, test drove it that evening,, the next day i drove it some more to make sure all was well and got it warm, came back tuned it, test drove it again, customer picked up and drove home. next day the cel came on with this code set but started fine and didnt turn the cel on until he had drove for 20-30 minutes.

The problem may be that the cali glow plug controller sends back a different signal than the federal one for the P0380 code. A federal truck only monitors wether the glow plugs get power whereas a cali truck monitors each individually I believe. Did you change operating systems when you did the tune, or just run a script over it?
