GM has a bulletin out about plugging in the block heater in temperatures above 0°F. It can sometimes set a false fuel temperature sensor and/or engine coolant temperature sensor performance code. The two sensors, along with the intake air temp sensor self check each other on a cold start and plugging the truck in when its warmer than 0°F can cause those self checks to fail falsely.

The bulletin states to make sure you have the most current ECM calibration programmed and if so you have to either not plug in the truck until temps are below 0°F, or purchase a new block heater cored with a thermostatically controlled switch in it.

Or there is a slim possibility that there is something wrong with the fuel temp sender circuit.

I've personally plug my truck in way before temps even get close to 0°F so you may just need a current ECM update.

Not sure its always up to the discretion of the tuner. From my understanding they just use whatever tune is in your pickup.

However since your truck is tuned you can have your tuner shut off that code.
