Thinking about doing one of the axis rebuilt turbos with port and polish and wetzel wheel. Just curious how that compares to a stealth 64mm other than cost.

I cant give any input on the 64. My p&p with wetzel wheel is awesome! Lights so fast its ridiculous. I couldn't be more happy with how it turned out. I would shoot Russell (yellowchevy) a message he eats sleeps and breathes these things. He was a great help when I did mine.

Thanks, Im leaning towards russell's turbo because of the work he does. I had just seen a truck with a 64 and it ran very well.

If you called and asked what turbine wheel they run in the 64 stealth we could tell you hp differences between the 2 turblows.

Thanks Ill try to call them later.

The stealth 64mm (Duramax Tuner) and Fleece 63mm IHI both look like modded stock IHI's, just no information on the turbine wheels.

I wonder if russell has looked into different turbine wheels?

This is what he told me when we were talking about it over Facebook. I'm going to have him do one for me too and place a 472 I just got over it later on. That's what I plan on doing as of now but things always change lol, still having him do mine though.

"488hp & 888ft/lbs(39hp & 134ft/lbs over stock) with the Wetzel and 464hp & 793ft/lbs(4hp & 18ft/lbs over stock) with the batmowheel on the dyno."

Stock referring to a stock wheel in a P&P IHI.

Ive seen russel's wheel results, well laid out haha. But ive never heard any discussion on changing the turbine wheel. Not sure thats even possible.

But Im probably going to do P&P and a wetzel wheel. Impressive results and Im not trying to build a new motor haha.

Nope, they use different center sections to allow for upgraded turbine wheels. Call up Russ (yellowchevy), he will give you the run down on his and others. He wont bs you and wants you to be informed whether that means he looses a sale or not.

dont blame ya. cant say ive heard of anyone testing these back to back though. i think what you will find is more what each turbo can do, not so much spool up differences or seat of the pants feel difference.

My P/P turbo with the wetzel wheel from Russell is ****ing badass. He does amazing work and has amazing customer service.

He is definitely the guy to talk to about about the 64. I talked to him about it a while back but he was still in the early stages I'm sure he's done a shit ton with one since then.

I have ran DTS's 64 and 66 IHI turbo's. The 64 came with a cast compressor wheel and stock sized exhaust wheel. The 66 had a billet compressor wheel, but used a S300 center section and the IHI exhaust housing with a 74mm wheel.
The 64 spooled like stock, but pulled harder on the top end than stock. The 66 had a little lag, but hit hard up top.

I saw your write up on his work and decided to get in touch with him awhile back.
