So I just recently started fabbing up my own ORT (Offroad Tech) style winch bumper. I've got a Smitty XRC12 and four KC Apollos that are going on it. I've never seen an ORT on anything other than a Ford so I thought I'd do something similar. The winch box is out of 1/4" steel plate and I'm using 3" x .120" wall tubing and mandrel bends to fab the top tube and push bar. The lower bar will be done in the tube bender and out of 2" x .120" wall tubing. I've got two weekends into the project as of now and hope to have her finished by Thanksgiving. Let me know what you guys think. Sorry if the pics seem kinda pixely (I'll get some good ones taken later)

This is what I'm basing mine on:

And Here's mine so far:

Looks good. Reminds me of the older Road Armor Sahara bumpers. I have one sitting behind the house that needs to find its way on... Who's SAS kit did you use?

The guy before me had 4WheelParts do the lift. It's a ORU 10" SAS kit with a 79' Ford Dana 60.

So my transmission went out and I hadn't had a chance to work on the bumper for the past few weeks until this last weekend. I ended up getting quite a bit done. I used 3" mandrel bends and straight tube to piece together the entire main tube section and the hoop. Here's some update pics:

Well I got the lower tube bent and tacked in place last night. The only things left to do are the light tabs and the license plate bracket.

So I got the upper and lower light tabs tacked in place last night. I'm not sure if I'll stick with the 6" KC's or go with a 7" or 8". I had the 6's left over from my previous truck. I'm hoping to have the bumper finished up this weekend and off to powder coat the first of next week.

So I finally got the truck back after a month in the shop for transmission/transfer case/tuner repairs and snapped some pics of the finished bumper. I still need to get some 8" lights to replace the upper two.

I thought I'd share some updated photos of my bumper. I recently had it stripped and then re-powdercoated with textured black. I also replaced the top 6" KC's with some 9" Hella Rallye 4000's :thumb:

Front end looks mean! Although if it were my truck I probably would have stuck with a plain black grille. Studs look a bit like a pair of Ed Hardy pants. But I'm being nit picky lol

I usually don't like bling and if I were doing it, I probably wouldn't have tried the studs. However, I think it looks good. The bigger lights are way better. I think you nailed it man.
