Just found out I got orders to Camp Pendleton in Jan. I'm comin from Nc. Question, carb question, I have a 04 lb7 fed spec with full mbrp exhaust and a intake. Will this pass a referee? Or is my truck illegal? Found out recently my car will b illegal..... :(

My advice is keep it registered in your home of record I am in the process of transferring mine back to Ak as I bought it out here...after getting a smog notice and a $500+ registration bill

Mine's still registered in FL. Haven't had any problem. Straight pipe exhaust and no EGR. Noone even inspected it. Just make sure when you go to pass and ID you tell them your registration is good and you just need a new location sticker. :thumb:

I'm in southwest Louisiana... Not far from where they film "swamp people"... You know were still Rollin coal down here! Haha

However; my friend does grants and LA is supposedly trying to get new shops in place to start with the "clean diesel act" so I assume lbz down will be grandfathered in? Who cares, make me a payment plan.. ;-)

It should pass the referee, but why?

Since you are military, just leave it registered in NC. If the cops DO pull you over for out-of-state plates (very rare), show them the military ID and they should send you on your way.

Heck, I've had my AZ registered truck in CA for over a year, and I haven't been given a second glance. Plus, I pay about a third in registration/tax that I would in CA. Just leave it how it is, it's a win-win.

Leave the registration in N.C. but you have to leave your home address on your drivers liscence in N.C. also. If you change your home address on your Drivers Liscence you registration is automatically changed. I ran in to this just a month ago. If you ever need and inspection hit me up I know a guy that can magically inspect vehicles no matter where they are:angel:
