I'm a big believer in paying for what you have and then just enjoying it. I have no plans to upgrade my vehicle because its plenty good enough... and If I bought a new one I would have to turn around and do all the same things I did to this one.

So in that sense, I say you stick with what you got. The grass really isn't greaner on the other side.

The 06's are good units though. My bro has one and it goes good and drives nice. If you ask me it sounds stupid compared to the LB7's and LLY's but thats no big deal. Just be ready to throw some new tranny lines on if you live where it gets cold.

If you can afford it and still be comfortable, go for it, but if they try and screw you and give you $10k and charge $30k for the 06 I would definately run away. It doesnt look like you will lose alot of parts except for the exhaust, so hopefully it wont be a big hit to trade up.

They leak when it gets cold on some trucks. My 07 doesn't but Dan coldlbz's 06 does!!

Advantages to the 06 would be a better flowing inlet to the turbo, the 6 speed tranny, and more hp out of the box and better injectors, no FICM. Downside is the pistons that are more prone to cracking than the previous years. Also, it has alot more emissions crap on it than your 03 which you will need to get rid of.;)

Oh yeah, those lines leak real good. I think I'm on my 5th set. And I'm in need of new ones again. Some guys instead of putting the GM stuff back on are getting lines made up, and that seems to be working. How do the trucks compare option wise?

I kinda believe in paying for something and keeping it. Only reason I ditched my 03 was because I wanted a CC and I wanted 4wd. If my lb7 had those, I might have kept it since it was close to payed off. Then the payment money becomes toy money :D

With that said, If you like your truck now and just want to get one a few years newer, Id say pass. If theres something you dont like about it that cant be fixed, then yeah, think about trading in for something you want. Just my .02 though

I would not trade up,It would be safe to say you do not owe alot on your 03, once you step up and put out more money that will slow you up on building your truck up, were if you keep the 03 you can get the built trans and turn the power up more and if something does break your not out a big payment and a repair bill,I wish i started with a older truck and not the new one like I ended up doing.

03's are the best:D first of the Chinese body, no emissions crap and very very little piston problems

Edit- they are a hell of alot easier to tune too

When I was thinking of trading up I just considered the difference I would have to pay, and how much longer I would have to make payments. I decided against it. As much as I would like a new truck I would rather have no payments. Henry could you please post more info about the modified trans lines? Thanks.

The Norco's
06 and 07'sn are great but these are the years that had internal pump exploding problems with the LBZ that took out all the injectors and contaminated the fuel system.

The trans lines leak in all climates.

Stick with what ya got, Injectors are the only thing to worry about and you can get a complete set with all gaskets for around 13 to 15 hundo and put them in yourself in a weekend if your not wheel chair bound.
