as of right now, there is a little local bet going on between some trucks and a few people running their mouths (nothing out of the usual for the young 12v cummins kids). looking for everyone's opinion on what i should do next in order to prepare for this local pull and possibly in Indiana. As of right now my rig is an 05 LLY Crew cab short box. it has the following mods:
68mm Fleece cheetah
ARP studs, Grade C's
Billet Socal Pushrods
twin kennedy pumps with stock cp3 and stock sticks.
3" plumbing including y bridge
3'' dp and 5 inch exhaust with 5" intake
built trans, stock shafts
1800 stahl converter
7' traction bars
stock driveshafts
built front end (sleeves, braces) and will strap centerlink
lowered front end
efi max effort tuned

All guages to monitor everything needed.

Any opinion will be much appreciated, Thanks!

i'm no pulling expert, but isn't that stall pretty low for a sled puller??? I guess you're turbo isn't huge so its not like you need a lot of rpm to spool it I guess.

Fuel and Air are a good place to start, bigger sticks then you're going to be air limited, larger 72mm cheetah possibly. Guess it depends on pulling rules.

Front locker is a big help. I use an elocker in mine. Make sure your factory limited slip is still good or replace with something stronger. I also upgraded my rear axles with moser units. Much beefier than stock plus I still have my stock ones in reserve if something happens.

I would worry more about getting the power to the ground right now. If funds are there you could always add a bigger cp3 and injectors but they aren't necessarily needed. Have you modified your hitch yet? Custom pulling hitch with roll pan and sled stops is another good upgrade.

^^^X2. Suspension set up is over looked so many times. Sled stops , good hitch tucked in as far as possible and max height will go a long ways. Look to put power to the ground before you worry about big power. Then add mo powa!!

definitely look into a front locker! and set up! get good tires, get your pressures dialed in, suspension stops. then if you want more power get a set of bigger injectors

I agree a front locker netted me at least 10 feet, not to mention the truck pulls so much smoother with it. Honestly I think the biggest thing overlooked is tires. If you are gonna pull all season, get yourself a spare set of wheels and buy a set of tires dedicated for pulling. A lot of folks like sts's, duratracs, or bfg's. If you are gonna run your pulling tires on the street, stay away from the sts. They don't last long on the street.

In work stock here suspension stops aren't allowed unfortunately. Also another requirement is a stock style hitch like Reese or so on

you can get a roll pan with the hide away hitch behind the license plate. Then have yr stock hitch moved up to fit in the hole and it'll be tucked in and up. There is a thread on a site that sells a hitch that will bolt up to fit in a roll pan aswell.

and for no bump stops. I got around it by adding 1ton springs to my stock spring pack.. Truck rides smooth but barely sags at all when sled pulling. What about a front wieght bracket?

You have to read in between the lines, stock style hitch doesn't mean a "stock" hitch. Get creative and get some ideas from other people. I would recommend getting new tires.

Tires, stiffen up the rear suspension, move the hitch. In that order of importance. The three tires listed above is what you want. If you are driving on the street get a second set of wheels so you don't kill the edge of the pulling tires. Do you want to win or make it easy on yourself?

I would do a 40% injector and elocker, run 20psi front and 45psi rear. But that psi depends on your track material: clay, pavement(aka hard ass dirt), tacky dirt. I run bfg's 285/75/16. 550rwhp stock turbo 60% inj(yes it gets cooking) used to have a suncoast 1054 like 1800stall and it was decent, but I like the 2300(1058tc) I have now.
