4: 0.91
5: -0.31
6: -0.14
7: -0.69
8: -0.81

would you guys mind giving me your opinions on what ive got here, based on my balance rates? my truck is an 05 LLY, 5" exhaust, and a small tow tune. ccv mod, and egr deleted..

so if i have a couple injectors with balance rates of 5.5 they are good to run, not in any of my trucks.

In gear it's + or - 6.0 not 4.0...

What are they in park with the truck at full operating temp?

ill have to check again tonight, i forgot to write those readings down.. i do remember the 2nd injector being around 4.09 or so...

ill get the truck a little warmer tonight, and recheck the rates and post up what they are..

the reason im trying to get you guy's opinions on these is because while driving, you can hear a noise like an injector knock.. like its still working, but hammering, you know? its not horribly bad sounding, but me being able to hear it, annoys the hell outta me!

im going to set the valves either tonight or tomorrow, and see if that helps a little. if not, i have a feeling itll be an issue with one of these injectors... still trying to learn more about EFI live, and using it on a duramax :). so far, its pretty awesome with helping to diagnose issues lol

Who's tunes are you running?

It's a tow tune I'm trying that I found in the library over on diesel place.

I'll tune it back to stock and check them again. But the engine makes the noise whether its bone stock, or with this tune. Pretty much no change at all.

In my opinion: check balance rates using the stock tune only.

Sent from my iPhone.

What he said, and also note what the fuel rate is at idle as most forget to check that one.

I wouldn't mess with the valves either.

You might be shocked to see just how much they can loosen up in a short amount of time. I had 40K miles on mine since I did teh head gaskets, and I know they were TIGHT .012. After the 40K miles 13 were loose with 1 being almost .020.

This is why I'd like to run the valves, just to be sure. It can't hurt anything lol. The truck has 287k on it... I know at 100k on a cummins, they are almost always out. Readjust them, mileage goes up, and it'll run like a new truck lol

Ok checked balance rates while in park at 160*. Was at 4.06.

In gear was anywhere from 3.64-3.98.

Think it would be a wise decision to replace the number 2 injector?
