I have 100 over injectors which had 35,000 on them when I did different nozzels and was breaking in a new motor....Hadnt drove it more that 5 miles when it started to run rough..Checked the balance rates with EFI and this is what I got.

#1 12.17
#2 -4.02
#3 -4.02
#4 2.17
#5 -2.78
#6 -4.02
#7 -2.27
#8 1.19

I took apart the #1 injector and cleaned it....And checked it again and nothing changed.....So I swaped out 2 of them and it was still #1 with the high rate...So I dont think it is an injector issue more of an electrical problem...just didnt know where to start looking....thanks mike

Not sure what year your truck is, but if it has a FICM the harness can rub through at the top. If no FICM then look the #1 injector wires over they could be rubbed through at the valve cover where there tied down. Also double check that the connector is making good contact with the injector (ice pick mod)

I hate to be the asshole to say it but I suspect something mechanical with #1. Lets just hope I'm wrong.

Wow that blows!! Hopefully it will be a cheap easy fix for ya.

Honestly I'm shocked the balance rate wasn't 15.00.

Still sounds like valve lash

If the lash was on the edge of being tight after you run it a little and got heat into the motor it would close the lash up. If it's not lash then you have a bent valve. To have nothing it has to be a open or bent valve. Jeff

AFTER looking at your numbers

I would also wounder why there all so low? What cam and pistons did you end up using? 220 is low but being there all the same it could be the gauge or something. If it was that low I would think it would smoke and run rough until it warmed up pretty good. Jeff

Jeff we were trying a low comp motor....It does smoke at startup and runs inda rough for the fisr few mins.....I was thinking that the comp level was low maybe because the rings hadnt got seated yet....Am i off on that thinking

motor

The rings should be good after a couple of miles. Increase and decrease the rpm and they should seat pretty quick. Are your pistons really low comp for a reason? Jeff

My builder thought with the fairly big set of twins I am running it would work out better.I am trying to remember what he said the final ratio was....I will look and post it
