Bringing a trailer from King of Prussia, PA to Elkhart, IN for warranty work. I have a day possibly two of just hanging out starting Monday while they fix it. What the heck is there to do out there?:confused::confused:

You could also stock up on booze while you are there. Last time I was in PA for a couple days you have those special state controled stores or something, what a pain! Booze is cheaper in IN than here in MI.

Do they have an open/not gated area? I cant remember.
You may want to stop at the service plaza on the toll road.

i'm at the service station 20 miles east of toledo right now. guessing about two hours from here. nap time :D been on road since 3:30 this am, and a tad tired. anybody coming through i'm the 6' 5" guy squished in the front of a grey reg cab dmax with a white 32' enclosed on my bumper with "royal restrooms" lettered on each side.

haha, I've towed some of those 'pooper wagons', 'turd trailers', whatever you want to call 'em. I think the one I did was a 'black tie' 12000 lbs empty what a beast.

Hey, they have free showers in those ohio turnpike service plazas, usually pretty clean too. I've never used them, but my dad says they are clean, just low pressure water. If anyone asks, you are a commercial driver

yup those are the trailers, mine scales out at 11000# bone dry and is about 32'. and the weight distribution is awful, look at it the wrong way going down the hwy and it starts swaying can't go much faster than 65-70. i only got 9-10 mpg in tow at that speed anyway on winter fuel with my first tow tune. i'm trying a second tune on the return trip.

yes i survived :D i did forget my "no lot lizards" sign i usually put in the back window when i stay over night at truck stops though :p.

dropped trailer off at 4:30am and passed out at the super 8 (on highway 5 i think) just got a phone call trailer will not be ready this afternoon so i have to spend the night. they guys at pace work 4 10 hours days every week from 5am til 3pm so maybe i'll make it home for breakfast wednesday am.

just got another phone call....

the customer never pumped out the waste tank before i picked it up, though my boss insisted that it was pumped and the heads up display was not working properly when i checked it, it was half full, 400 gallons of crap / piss i'd guess an extra 3-4000# thank goodness for my class v titan hitch holding up to all that weight. i did have the dump the 250 gallons of fresh water before i got on my way though as those tanks offset on the drivers side only.

i thought i was riding a little low in the back, i had 90psi in the airbags for the sake of trying to run level, rear end was almost ridged and on a couple big bumps front wheels lifted with the weight transfer of the unbaffled waste tanks.

they found out it was half full when the guy was cutting into the waste pipe to replace a valve and got a bath  i did tell them there was some "sloshing" when i was pulling it and to be careful.

ha haha.... when I towed the one turd trailer I made them open the valves and show me it was empty. I went from Jersey right thru the mess of NYC with it.

guess you have some time to consume some of that booze you stocked up on!

yup sittin my hotel room having some right now :). for us people that live in the tri state area ( i live in ct about 30 min from the nyc ) shortcut to save on headaches from george washington bridge and cross-bronx traffic and expensive tolls is to take I-80 -> I-287 -> I-95 few more miles but toll is way less, less traffic, and much better road conditions! tappen-zee view is not as nice as gwb though

I was just there last week! Went from IN to just outside boston. For some reason the gps routed me out 80 up thru Scranton, to CT and into Boston. Then for the ride back the thing sent me straight down 95 almost to NYC cut across somewhere to 80 back. I dont really remember, the 2 days is kinda a blur.

easier way next time you go to boston i80 to i278 to i84 take about an hour out of the trip provided you don't travel through rush traffic just watch for cops on 84 thats their "happy hunting ground". i live about 5 min off i95 x24 in ct
