Shared these over on dp.com so thought I would bring them over here.

In August I was out in Jolon/King City, CA area for our FEX before deployment. This is just one giant training/evaluation excercise where we are graded on how ready we are. I am on the convoy security team and this is the stuff we were out doing. After this training event I was assigned to be a gunner when we get over to the desert.

Looks like a good ride for hog hunting:D

I don't know what they were doing, but right outside of the base there was what looked like a public campsite with several people and jeeps/convertible trucks hunting for something. We would see them riding the trails with guns but never got a chance to find out what they were up too. I would guess a few hundred people were camped out though. Maybe someone from that area could tell us. The base is the same one where a portion of "We were soldiers" was filmed with Mel Gibson, Fort Hunter Liggett.

Why do I keep doing this?

Be careful and get back safely. Looking at those M-2 50 cal pictures brings back memories. I think I can still do the headspace and timing on one.:D

I am a steelworker in the Seabees, no ships for me.

Thankfully I have not setup one wrong yet, I hear the aftermath is pretty bad.

I was out at Fort Hunter Liggett around King City and Jolon.
