What exactly it's the point of this slot on my lb7 compressor housing? I know a lot of them have it. I'm a heavy diesel mechanic and most of the turbos I've ever seen have it as well... it's there a NEED for it or is it just part off the casting process? Could a guy say cut it out and make a bad bushing and Smith it all out? Just me being curious...

But can/would a stock diameter lb7 compressor create allot of surge if that was removed? Doesn't fleece make a stock turbo with a 73mm wheel that has that grove removed? Like I said. Just trying to learn a thing or two...
