Oil life meter drops fast

Ever since my motor build, the oil life meter drops fast. Like 700 miles and it is down to 15% oil life remaining.

Before the motor build it would go 2500 miles on 50% oil life.

I'm using the same oil and filters I've been using since I bought the truck. I thought the oil life was simply monitored by mileage? I'm not driving the truck anymore aggresive than I was..just curious how oil life is actually monitored?

Pretty sure it counts crank revolutions Mike... Not sure why it would be off so far though.

I've read that the system takes in account engines RPMs, miles, operating hours and operating temp to "predict" when the oil is going to start degrading. I wouldn't ever trust a guess with a stock motor let alone a built one like yours....

Hmm well I don't know them. Not a whole lot has changed in my driving habits since the built motor went it. It only has 3 quarter mile passes on the oil.

If it had previously been molested then I would have changed it back but seeing it is still set to the factory setting..has me wondering.
