LB7: Oil leak and soot buildup

Just need some thoughts on what could be causing the leak but more importantly, why soot is building up on the outside. I don't have symptoms of a bhg.

If needed, I can get more photos.

It's not soot, just dirt and oil buildup... I would steam it off and see were its leaking. Crankcase breather block drain hose hooks into the block may be leaking.

Yeah I get the dirt/gunk where the wet surface is but in the upper area of the photo there is some soot like buildup that concerned me as well. No idea where it came from.

I'll check out getting it scrubbed down this weekend, tearing it down for injectors.

Ohh I see it now... Bolts loose for the front of the manifold maybe?
