For the life of me I cannot get the stupid fuel and oil life messages to reset.

Feel dumb for just even asking this

Is there a hard reset I could do or anything? '05 with no DIC

Key on, engine off. Push the gas pedal down three + times to reset oil.

Key on engine off. Wait five seconds then press and hold the gas and brake for 10 + seconds for fuel filter reset.

dustin, any idea if a DSP corrupts that procedure like on the 01-02s? only way you can reset mine now is with efi live. every great once and a while i can get the throttle to reset oil life.

The '01/02 body styles have always seemed to fight the oil change reset regardless of being tuned or not. Along with GM W body cars and a few others around those years as well. It's gotten to the point that I just use a Tech II regardless.

I know how to do the resets, but apparently the truck doesn't :D

I spent entirely too much time the other night trying every combo of fast pumps to key off etc. Nothing worked. A techII will reset em?

Can I do anything with a CTSinsight?

i read a while back about how just one flash from a DSP file corrupts the reset feature and there is no way to get it back without a new ecm, even if you flash a stock tune in. sucks cause mine worked every time till i did a DSP tune years ago. i wound up setting my light to come on at 10 or 15k so it damn near never comes on now.

i dont see it doing anything for you. you will need a techII, high feature scan tool or something like EFI Live to get it to reset.

Crazy to hear that. I know I went years programming my truck, then randomly it wouldn't hold a serial number. I was told by EFI forums that too many times programming with GM's TIS website would corrupt it. Cost me an ECM.

no kidding. ive flashed the hell out of mine and still holds but then again, thats efi flashing, not a techII. i need to see if there is a way to see how many times ive flashed my ECM. its gotta be over 1000

Do some operating systems not have the fuel filter life indicator? My truck used to have it but now it doesnt show up when scrolling through the DIC

Some '05 models didn't have it from factory. A current ECM flash from GM would add it in. I'm not sure what operating system that is.

Yes I do have those but don't have all the options that some do.

I've never ran into that but if all of your buttons are in working order then I would say a possible cluster reprogram with the most current calibration may give you all the options. This is just a theory though.
