Offset/backspacing on 20x9's

So here is the deal, my front fenders are rusted out under the fender flares. So I'm going to trim them up and mount 35x12.50's on 20x9's. Here's my question: is 18 mm offset (5.71" BS) too much? I know H2's have 5.5" BS and are a popular choice for getting 35's on a non lifted truck. I can't seem to find a 5.5" BS 20x9 rim, lots of 5's, but nothing really in the middle. Any suggestions? Or anyone using 35's with 5" BS? Maybe with the trimming it won't be an issue, just not sure.

I think you should be ok. I had 20x10 and 35/12.5 on 2 of my gmc classics. Had to do some bumper trimming and small fender adjustment( hammer). Not sure on the back spacing, but they stuck out pretty far

This is what I'm dealing with as far as what I'll be trimming, I'm hoping it'll be enough to fit 35's with the right BS.
