Wow I got banned from a forum for the first time today. Duramax Forum! :D

http://www.duramaxforum.com/forum/towing-hauling/3871-tow-mode.html

yeah maybe I was a little sarcastic in my responses, but they ALL pertained to the thread and had legit tech content. The reason for my sarcasm was because I was frustrated that the so-called "tech specialist" idiots were feeding wrong info on such a stupid simple topic, and when I see people so confidently explain something that they are just flat out wrong about, I get frustrated like that.

Then one of the mods over there starts dragging it off topic, and the tech specialist continues, not wanted to admit he just made himself look like a fool. Ive been an ass to people on forums before, but never banned, so this one really surprised me because I didnt think I was being that bad...

that sucks

not really, I was just sort of taken aback that I was banned with no warning AT ALL. Like I said, ive been a bigger ass a lot of times on forums and never even got a warning, let alone a ticket to banned camp. The level of tech over there is silly and all I was trying to do was help them out. I had yet another "tech specialist" arguing with me saying that you need to drop the trans to take the dipstick tube out.

I think you earn a badge as a "Tech Specialist" over there if you post like a million times. I think their experience with these topics are lacking heavily, and I feel sorry for all those users that are being misinformed on all the technical aspects of their trucks that they are trying to learn about. Some people just love to argue to the point of nothing even if they are dead wrong in the end. Hopefully they don't rely on just those users off that forum. Even the so called "Specialists" admitted to being new to certain topics. What the heck kinda specialist is that? I don't think that title refers to experience of the vehicle at all. Guess you proved that they don't like someone on there that knows what their talking about. Later on bro...:D

Did you change your user title to banned? If so thats funny

I did that as an April Fools joke over at the Garage and nobody noticed.

Hey Ben, whats the bet that the "Tech Specialist" over at DmaxForum is the same as JMAASKE over at the Place. I see you were correcting the same thread at two different sites, and neither one of them could understand the logic of it, let alone could read correctly.

Gotta love how that guy didnt even know that our trucks are rated 9200GCVW and arent subject to the light-duty (8500lb) regs. Duh. Some freakin "Tech Specialist".

My ZF6 doesn't have tow haul. No wonder my batteries are dead after every time I haul. Oh wait no they don't because my alternator works.

Btw never had that problem on our half tons niether.

In the words of Red Foreman "dumb ass".

I thought the same thing Tom.

btw thanks for the birthday call, I got a kick out of that. I would have called you right back but that was during the 2 day period when I was without a phone because I canceled my old one before I actually got the new one; it took me a little while before I got your message. OT, but how did the track go??

Track went ok. high 12.40s/low 12.50s Have to do more testing on that snubber in a couple weeks at our home track.

Back to subject....I was banned for a month at the Place once for lipping off (imagine that). Its all in who you piss off. Shit happens. But at the same time, giving out bad information is the worst thing someone can do, and if you are in the position to correct it, then you should do so immediately. I personally would rather have someone with more knowledge say, "You're FOS" (like Mike usually does to me) than letting it go.

the 2500HD LB7 i'm getting has the 4th VIN as "H"...9001 - 10000 GVWR according to the "light duty" catagory.

if it was a medium duty, it should be "A"...9001 - 10000 GVWR

so, is it a light duty or not??

We're not light duty. We're rated 9200lbs. Dually would be rated higher. Light dutys are rated 8500lbs (1/2 tons, burbs, avs, eskys)...those are "light duty" trucks.

Info taken from "PickupTruck.com":
The 3/4-ton models have a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) as much as 9,200 pounds (4,173 kg), and payloads as much as 3,964 pounds (1,798 kg). The one-ton pickup models have a GVWR of as much as 11,400 pounds (5,171 kg) GVWR and payloads of as much as 5,753 pounds (2,610 kg). Silverado HD has an 11,400-pound (5,171 kg) GVWR for 2WD chassis cabs and 12,000-pound (5,443 kg) GVWR for 4WD chassis cabs. Chassis cabs provide payloads of as much as 6,089 pounds (2,762 kg).
