I'm wondering if someone can tell me if the the the 2 individual OEM cab light housing bulbs are replaced with a regular 194/168 bulb?. I know the center light houses 3 pc194 twist in socket style bulbs. The 2 individuals appear to be plugged into a connector that plugs into the main cab light harness. The connector is similar to the socket for the interior door lights. I think the bulbs are intended to pull out of the socket, but mine are very tight and I don't want to break anything if they aren't. Oh yea and I'm talking about the 2001-2007 factor roof/cab lights.

If you’re talking about the cargo lights that are on either side of the 3rd brake light in the back top of the cab, then yes. Those are 194s

no, Im talking about the cab/roof lights on the front of the cab. The 3rd barke light and cargo light bulbs are actually a 912/921 bulb from the factory.

the ones circled in red. I know the bulb size is 194, but I'm wondering if the bulb comes out of the socket or is it an assembly?

Those would be roof marker lights. I thought those where LED. If not then yeah 194 bulbs

I've always known them as cab lights but either way. I know its not LED and it is a 194 bulb. That isn't my question. Has anybody changed this bulb before I guess should be my question. I have taken it apart already and just want to know if i need just a bulb, or if its an assembly like the center light. The center light has 3 194 bulbs but they are a pc 194 and the socket and bulb is all one piece. The bulb on mine is very tight and I'm just trying to avoid breaking something if possible.

this is a pc194. the bulb is soldered to the socket making it one piece. This is not however the same style used in the bulbs for the 2 side roof marker lights.

Mine are as well, but I'm swapping everything to LED's. The Roof/cab lights front turn signals and drl is all I have left to do. I statred with the interior and got a little carried away. Thanks for your response anyway :thumb:

Recon makes very nice stuff and they’re pretty proud of it. They have stock appearing lights just with LEDs. Up to you tho.

This. They’re a really decent option for LED light kits. Check them out. They’re not too pricey either.

Thanks for the replies, but I've already made mind up on what I'm doing with what I have. Just wondering if the bulb comes out of that socket on the two individual lights. I'm fairly certain it does so I will find out when the replacements arrive.

My truck doesn’t have cab lights so it’s not something I can vouch for, but it would seem weird to me to have 2 out of the 5 cab lights be different bulb styles. I may be wrong, but it just seems silly.

They are both 194's but the large center light has 3 of the pc194 twist in sockets. The outside single lights don't use the same twist in style socket. The wire connector itself twist into the housing instead. I'm pretty sure the 194 bulb just pulls out of the connector, but mine are damn tight so I thought I'd ask before I break lol. I'd post a pic of what I'm talking about but I can't find any anywhere.

The bulbs in the two individual corner lights are 194's and do pull out of the socket/connector.You will need t10 twist in sockets to facilitate 194's in the center housing that has 3 lights. I've gotten everything from VLEDS and couldn't be happier. I used these for the roof lights and front sidemarker http://www.vleds.com/shop-bulb-numbers/194-168-158-led/194-1-hv-a.html. They are expensive, but very high quality both in the light they provide and the way they look when installed. I've bought the cheap shi*t and learned you get what you pay for.
