I have a 2005 Chevy 2500hd , I recently put a 4in down pipe back exhaust in it, when I start it it sounds great and then after about 5-10 seconds it changes and sounds odd, I'll add the video in just a second.

The ECM is cycling the turbo vanes to verify everything is working right. :thumb:

With a stock exhaust, you can't hear it happen, but it still happens. If it doesn't do that, then your turbo is not happy, and a Service Engine Soon light is soon to follow.

The vanes sweet to knock the carbon build up off. Early psd's did not do this which lead to their turbo problems, and having to take them off and clean them. Dodge doesn't do it either and its why they say to turn the exhaust brake on all the time(so it moves the vanes every time you let off the throttle).
