LLY: Occasional loss of throttle signal

I've been having an intermittent problem with losing the throttle pedal input. I'll be driving along and all of a sudden it's like I let off the throttle completely, but I'm still on it. The first few times this happened I let off completely, then pushed into it again and everything was fine. Last week I was on the freeway and it happened again, but this time I couldn't do anything. Ended up pulling onto the shoulder and got my scan gauge out...sure enough, throttle position was 0% no matter what position I pushed the pedal to. I got under the hood and unplugged the pedal harness and plugged it back it, and everything started working like normal again. Anyone experience this before?

Sounds like you need to change out the pedal assembly. Electronic throttles do this when they are faulty.

i am having the same problem but only it happens to me during when only apply 1%-13% throttle. watch the video of my truck. I think i am going to put a new throttle assembly in also. Is your truck producing any type of cel for what is going on?

Check the pins in the connectors first. They may not be making consistent contact.

Shouldn't the ECM recognize that there is a problem and set a cell?

Not always. I've seen some pretty unexplainable things happen.

No CEL for me, or even pending codes. I haven't had a problem either since I unplugged and replugged in the connector.

My truck did that way back in early 02 when my dad owned it. wound up being the throttle. the dealer was not happy to see the PPE duramaximizer in there either :rofl:
