I want to purchase an OBDII scanner for my 2006 LBZ. I just don't like spending $100.00 every time I have to go to the dealers to get the reading and then be able to fix the problem myself. I would like one that is self contained with an LED readout but I don't want to spend $Hundreds on one if I can get one that works good for a couple $hundred. What do you have and would you buy a different one now that you have used yours and why?

I have one from MAC. It was about $150. Live data feed. I/M readiness. OBD II codes and erase. and Internet updatable. Have a couple of other features. They also have one that just reads and erases codes. It's about $75.
got a cheap ass one from harbor freight for 45 dol works good to read and clear and just leave it in the truck instead of the efi live
That is bad, charging a guy $100 to read and clear a code with a $50 reader. That Canadian shop knows how to charge the hell out of a customer. BS there for sure. Get an Actron if nothing else just to have on the road and use if you get a bad code and it puts you in limp mode. Several models and prices but worth every cent for road duty.
One don't pay to use one Stop at any PartSource or CT's or NAPA and use one Free.
Almost all of them are OK I still like the SnapOn and MAC ones the best but that is what I started on so that just me.
