Ohm the heater element on both seats they should be close if the driver side is really small resistance then you have a short. What im saying is it should have a thermal overload to make sure its not to hot to start a fire. So if the heater draws to much power too fast the over load acts like "oh crap its to hot" and opens the circuit. By chance you check any fuses? They may not be bad because fuses don't detect thermal loads just amp draw. Start at that point and let us know so we can help.

10 bucks its the drivers seat element shorting out. Dorman sell the replacement element. Easy to replace, too.

Do you have a link for that by chance? And are they vehicle specific? The only one I can find is $80-120 and universal. Thanks.

This may have just helped me the first post is exactly how my bonneville acts. Whole completendifferent vehicle but may have to look into this now.
