Im wanting to be 100% sure everything is right on this build. Ive never o ringed a block on a duramax. Done a few fire rings on Cummins. Anyways, ive done my research. 4.42 ring centerline, .041 stainless wire, .039 width, .036 depth, found in a previous thread. My question is what gaskets do i need to use. Block is brand new, dont believe it will need to be decked. Do i just put a regular gasket on and basically let the ring push it into the head?

If you are doing an o-ring (steel wire) then use a MLS gasket (Victor Reinz wave stopper is my go to). Fire rings need to have a special gasket since the ring itself seals the combustion chamber.
