and all to show boat around new stuff stuck on old technology

Yeah, its disappointing that its going Cummins, but thats Zach's right since he bought it, isnt it? He's more into Cummins than anything else. Most shops do something similar to test/advertise their products, dont they?

Hate to see the Dmax come out, it wasn't running well in Topeka and still hit the 7's easy. Good way to pip your shop and products, for sure. Wonder what is to become of the dmax engine that was in it or if it was ruined after Topeka?

Shame, it will be interesting to see if they can run as fast on their first passes as it did with a dmax.

I am with you on that one if they run slower it will look bad for the shop. But you know the Dodge guys would all gay hey the bugs are still not worked out. But yet we can say the Duramax did not have its bugs worked out.

But anyway still should be a sweet dragster.

From reading between the lines over at Comp, I think they may have spun the cam bearing that feeds the turbo oil lines, not sure if anything else went wrong.
IIRC, didnt the original owner get hurt and decide to sell the dragster? The pics showed him with a walker. Hope he gets better.

Per Mike Woods post on comp d, he got in a motorcycle wreck, rehab could take months, possibly years.

oh definitly his right and i understand his reasoning behind it. id do the same if i owned a big shop like that. I just look at it as taking a step backwards. that dmax in there had tons of potential. Oh well, maybe that dmax sitting in his shop will get some wheels turnin in his head for some other dmax goodies to build for us :D

Never heard anything bad about Zach or Hamilton Cams in particular so best of luck on the build. It's still a diesel and until the new technology can consitently beat the old 12v, you gotta show some love for them. Besides, we got our own dragster to cheer for over here - go get em Sting.:thumb:

Thanks Ed

I would have liked to seen the Dmax stay but I also see why Zach would want a 12V from a shop owners standpoint. I'm sure he will get it kicking butt soon. I finally made a half pass in mine and went a 9.31 at 122 mph. I'm taking baby steps. I have never driven a dragster and I have never run without a intercooler. I had a 1.44 60' and lifted about 800'. I was also running my tow tune:rofl: with a 1800 ms pulse so i'm not sure on power at that level because I have never run a tune that small. The bad thing is the converter went strait to 5000 with that tune so i just pulled it out and shipped it back to get tighten up. I can't wait to get it running at full song and race Zach and the rest of the TD guys.

There are a few dmax guys running Hamilton cams. I believe max'd out has one. I know.alot of people like his valve springs. I agree i think the dmax is a much better engine for that car but im sure the old 12 valve will be a runner. Just like schied. Make one pass wait 20 min for the smoke to clear.

Just wait on the list

I would like to get a better number and atleast turn it up to the middle hot/tow tune:roflmao:. I knew you would like that Ken. When I get the converter back I will add some fuel and make some better passes.
