number 8 injector

number 8 injector just started jumping on it's balance rates. literally all over the board. the edge has read from 3 to 14.7.

any recommendations? cetane booster? is there wire rub associated with this injector, if so where?

i also notice while idle it is pumping out more exhaust (visible).

it is onPPE stage 1 and has been fine for months, this just started. only weather change is that it is nice up here now so I doubt that is related.

I dont know where to start.

Schafffer's makes a real good injector cleaner, I have been using it for a while now and it smoothes out the idle a bit, haven't checked balance rates before or after though. Stanadyne works pretty good too, or you can try the gm stuff that you hook directly into your fuel rail, there are posts about it, I'll try and find a link....

Maybe pull the injector and have it cleaned and tested, could be gummed up a bit, a 14 on the balance rate can't be good, your not talkin a 6or 8, taking it out may be the best idea

i had some injectors a little out of whack, i did the diy injector cleaning, which was super easy to do, and it brought my balance rates back into check
