Can anybody explain the rules to me about the diesel class in NTPA. I don't know alot about it, and i have a few questions from trying to keep up with it since they introduced the class.
1. Turbo....they introduce some trucks as having twins and some as triples. Like the Scheid truck or Shane Kelloggs, or the "Gotta Have It" truck??? But then you have Wess pulling with what I assume to be a big single if he keeps the truck setup for 3.0 class that he pulls in at TS?? Where is the rules or limits?
2. Block....Cory Atley (ohio cat) now has two trucks with billet blocks while everybody else is running factory style blocks? I figured the rule for the trucks would be the same as the tractors-- you must run a factory style block for that model.

This site may not be the place for this kinda topic but I figured someone on here would know way more about it than I do. I can usually understand all the rules for typical pulling, but this one kinda confuses me!

They allow two-stage charger setups. So the triple setups have two atmosphere chargers into one manifold charger = two stages with three chargers. If someone wants to try competing with a giant single, there's nothing stopping them from doing so. If Wes does that & hooks against Kellogg & Atley's etc. then he's probably just trying to get his truck exposure.

Some of the trucks are such that they can run a lower class (3.0/unlimited single) with smaller chargers, usually DOT tires, factory frame (no tube chassis) etc. Or they can put an extra charger on w/ cut tires & play with the big boys sometimes. This what curt haisley, brad Ingram, painter, etc do from time to time.

On the engine, I believe they just have a 440 ci limit & has to accept a stock crank.

thanks man, I see what you're sayin. I just figured you would see more filled blocks after seein what the CAT truck has done. I'm not sure about the cubic inch limit because everybody for the most part is running a stock-style block and even Atley's truck with the billet block is only around 380 inches i believe?
I have been wondering about that for a while now and NTPA wants you to order their rulebook to find out evidently.
