Started up my 04 LB7 after work last night, it was about 10 degrees, let it warm up about 5 minutes put it in gear, pressed the pedal and had RPM's but did not move, moved selector around, "Range Shift Inhibited" showed up on the DIC, played with it some more made a loud clunk and went into gear, Truck would not shift out of second. CEL showed up. Stopped, played with selector and it wouldn't go into any gears, still got the shift inhibited thing, got it back into gear with a clunk again. Drove a couple miles nice and slow in second gear, stopped to get beer, shut truck off and restared it It shifted fine after that. Got home and checked codes with EFI, had P0700 (general TCM is mad code) and P0731 (1st gear incorrect gear ratio). Cleared codes, drove around and it seemed to be fine. Drove to work tonight, stopped at store on my way (not to buy beer this time), everything seemed fine until I went to leave store, started truck up and had ABS light, service brake system lights on. Checked codes with EFI and I had about a thousand ABS codes. Restarted truck and codes went away and everythign seems to work fine. I have owned this truck about a year and have driven it about 10,000 miles. It has 137K on it now. I run a baby EFI tune on it, and I know nothing about its previous life. It gave me the Range shift inhibited one time this summer when i was trying to do a 3 point 4wd turn on a steep hill, no codes that time. And 2 other times in the last few months it has not moved when I pressed the pedal, 1st time it went into gear with a clunk, second time I just moved the selector to park and put it back to drive and it worked, no codes either of those times. Sorry for the book, but I wanted to give plenty of info.
I did some reading tonight and it sounds like the NSBU switch might be a good place to start. Do you think the service ABS thing is a fluke or how could it be related? Any other thoughts besides NSBU?
