This is on our 02 dually i replaced the manifold pressure switch had a bunch of codes and did the internal external filters new fluid it shifts much better now. My question is i change the gear and on the dash it does not light up in drive etc and sometimes has a delay to light up. It was doing this prior and is still doing it no codes and shifts fine now but would like to get this issue taken care of would it be the nsbu ? thanks matt

Could be the cluster my neighbors 03 kept looking letters d n r and so on.then the steeper motors started dropping 1by 1.Had the cluster rebuilt and all is good now.But i can't say that's the same problem you have.Maybe Mike can chime in.and let you know if there's a test.to perform to make sure if that is it or not.

When mine took a crap, it lost gear indication and cruise would kick in and out on its own.

Other ways to tell is it can create a no-start situation.

Been through this with both trucks, it is most probably the cluster. There are folks out there that repair your cluster, or you can get a reman, or buy one from the dealer. The repair is the cheapest option. Make sure you record all of the data: mileage, hours. The only place the mileage info is stored in these trucks is the cluster, if you have a total fail you will lose that information. The repair place needs to be able to do a full reflash based on vin and mileage/hours data.

Good Luck
