What is that and what can or can't you measure with it? Assume its to measure physical dimensions and NOT weight or loads on things, etc.

Looks like fun though. :D

What kind of clientel does Pat have? What kind of shit does he measure? :D

It's a coordinate measuring machine. He measures airplane parts, medical devices and auto parts & etc. to make sure they are in compliance with the blue prints. Our other website is qinsp.com but it needs some help.

Yeah, getting the room ready for the machine and trying to learn the new software has consumed most of my time.

We have 9 Coordinate Measuring Machines, 7 in current operation:

2 Mitutoyo AE122's with touch and video inspection
1 Helmel Checkmaster with touch and video
1 Mitutoyo B241 with touch and video
1 Mitutoyo BRT504 DCC (programmable) with a robotic PH9 touch head
1 Mitutoyo BHN710 DCC ditto
1 Brown and Sharpe Global Performance 12-15-10 DCC with Tesa robotic head (new)
1 Helmel DCC being rebuilt
1 Mitutoyo B231 being rebuilt

The least accurate of the machines is still capable of 0.0001" accuracy, and the best, 0.00002" or a half of a micron. To put it in perspective, a human hair is about .002" or 100 times our best accuracy. Realistically, I'm very comfortable guaranteeing readings of 0.0001" or a twentieth of a human hair.

But my true love is driving too fast. :D

That sounds so freakin awesome. I really should have went with Mech. Engr. instead of Civil. I'm way more mechanically inclined and interested than I am road, building, etc. :(

Maybe I should go back to school while I'm still relatively young (25)???

I can only encourage you to do that! There are a lot more ME's job openings in Europe than CE.....

BTW, I am a ME :)
